The Star Inn

The Star Inn-Watchet

The Star Inn is a small friendly pub in Watchet, West Somerset. There is a welcoming bar with log fire in the winter and good food to go with good beer. In summer the large beer garden is open. Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome and there is parking nearby.

The Star inn was first documented as the Royal Oak in 1794, the first landlord was Josiah Watts 1794 - 1808. Robert Stoate closed and reopened the pub during 1825 as the Star Inn. During its history , the pub was owned by the Egremont trustees in the 1870's then the Wyndham Estate in the 1890's.

The Star became a free house 1989 and is the home of real ales from in and around the West Country. Delicious home cooked food, including local steak and fresh seafood dishes, which can be enjoyed in the traditional surroundings of the pub or our lovely beer garden. Then on Sunday we have meats from around the county cooked for a traditional roast dinner.

We also have the very comfortable Star Cottage that is available to let all year round. A delightful 2 bedroom holiday cottage adjacent to the pub with a new relaxation conservatory with hot tub and sauna also available. Please click The Cottage button for more details.
